God Moved in Chapelfield Gardens — Outreach from the Hope Bus
God Moved at Chapelfield Gardens — Outreach Recap from the Hope Bus
On the 19th of July, Kingdom Now had the privilege of partnering with several churches and ministries for an incredible outreach day in Chapelfield Gardens. This event was coordinated mainly by Revive Norwich and Radical Church on the back of a 40day prayer & Fast. The beautiful park, nestled in the heart of Norwich, became a sanctuary of continuous worship, bold evangelism, and tangible encounters with the Holy Spirit. We were invited alongside Healing Rooms and other ministries to join what turned out to be a powerful move of God — all under the banner of unity and Kingdom purpose.
The day centred around the Hope Bus, a vibrant mobile ministry hub belonging to one of the local churches. Worship flowed continuously from the bandstand, led by different teams, creating a covering of praise over the park. Amidst this, our Kingdom Now team, a few of our evangelists, and believers from different churches gathered at the top of the bus for equipping and sending.
We trained people in a tool called Treasure Hunting and a basic Gospel explanation, where teams ask the Holy Spirit for clues about individuals He wants to reach that day — things like colours, locations, clothing, or unusual features — and then go out looking for their “treasure.” For many in attendance, this was their first time stepping out to share their faith, and we were so encouraged by the response. People found it challenging but deeply rewarding. Several approached us afterward, eager to connect more with Kingdom Now and continue growing in boldness and outreach.
We ran two equipping sessions — one at 4:30 p.m. and another at 6:30 p.m. — and each time teams were released into the park and surrounding area to follow the Spirit’s leading. And God showed up.
Two Salvations — Two Lives Changed
Among the many conversations and Spirit-led encounters, two people made the decision to give their lives to Jesus that day which was incredible.
One of those was a woman in a red cowboy hat, who stood out in the park — vibrant, colourfully dressed, and clearly someone the Holy Spirit had His eye on. One of the treasure hunt teams had a word to look for “something unusual,” and when they spotted her, they knew it was time to approach. As they began to talk, the conversation turned to spiritual things, and her heart opened. Right there in the middle of the park, she prayed and gave her life to God the Father, declaring that she wanted to follow Him. It was a deeply moving moment. Local church contacts are already following up with her.
Another powerful encounter involved a woman spotted wearing a red shirt, walking with her young son beneath the leafy canopy of one of the larger trees. A team had this as one of their clues and approached her, but she initially said she was in a rush — heading to a night shift — and didn’t have time to talk. They let me know what happened, and moments later I saw her on the other side of the park. I felt the Lord prompting us not to let this opportunity pass. We caught up with her again, and this time she opened up.
She had moved from overseas three months earlier and was struggling with culture shock, racism, and being a single mum in a new environment. She shared a vivid dream she’d had recently, and we were able to interpret it. The dream was clearly from God — a message that He was wiping the dust off her feet, and that provision was coming from across the sea. He was affirming her obedience in moving here, even though it had been difficult. We reminded her that sometimes, the enemy tries to derail us just before breakthrough, but resilience and perseverance through Christ are powerful weapons. She was visibly touched and left encouraged, knowing that God sees her.
Healing Testimony — Faith and Fire
Another powerful moment came when one of the people we were equipping — someone who had never done outreach like this before — approached us for prayer. They were struggling with severe back pain. As we prayed, one of the team had a vision of fire travelling up their spine, but only halfway. We paused and asked the Holy Spirit what might be blocking the healing. After some conversation, they admitted they weren’t sure if God could actually heal them.
They repented of that unbelief and began to declare the truth of who God is — our Healer. By the end of our prayer time, their pain levels had significantly reduced, and only a slight discomfort remained. They walked away not only physically lighter but spiritually empowered, stirred in faith, and more confident in God’s goodness and power.
God is Breathing on This
This day was full of divine appointments, salvations, healing, and fresh connections across church networks. Many leaders connected meaningfully, and follow-up conversations have already led to new opportunities. One church leader in Norwich has invited us to meet and explore further collaboration. God is breathing on this ministry, and fruit is already beginning to grow.
Please continue to keep Kingdom Now in your prayers as we prepare for another outreach on the 2nd of August to the same location. Come and join us if you can. We’re heading out again with the team and expect God to move mightily once more.Thank you to all who prayed, served, and worshipped with us. To God be the glory.
If you are interested in growing in sharing your faith and being in a culture where that is the norm, come to our training sessions on the 27th Sep - have a look at our events page.
